Denmark's Noma loses world restaurant crown after outbreak

"Spain's El Celler de Can Roca seized the title of the world's best restaurant from Denmark's Noma on Monday, one month after dozens of people came down with about of food poisoning from the Copenhagen eatery.

The restaurant in Girona, run by three brothers and known for its dishes based on perfumes, had spent two years as runner-up on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list compiled for a 12th year by more than 900 international experts for Britain's Restaurant magazine.

It swapped places with Noma, the two Michelin-starred Danish restaurant which spent three years at the top but which apologised in March after it left 63 customers suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea over a five-day period.

The magazine said that El Celler de Can Roca "gained global acclaim for its combination of Catalan dishes and cutting edge techniques and the passion that they share for hospitality".

I'm very happy because the world's best restaurant is in our province, and that type of titles attracts tourits from other countries to visit our gastronomy and our culture. El Celler de Can Roca has won the title of best restaurant of the world after being working harly for years. The pation for inovation of the three brothers has brought them to the top. Catalonia is reconaised for its gastronomy and good restaurants. Ferran Adrià whith  the restaurant el Bulli has also promotionated catalan way of cooking achiving also this distinction for its modern way on innovation in cooking. People appreciates a lot the work on preparing dishes, the vanguardia's cooking is nowdays very attracting for gourmets. My father uses to celebrate its meals of enterprise at christmas and summer vacancies there. He always says that El Celler the Can Roca is fantastic.

An elephant personality is a person whose deliberate movements exude confidence and calm in all aspects of his or her life. While maybe not the king of the animal world, it is surely a member of the royal family. With an imposing physical presence and kind, spiritual demeanor, it moves easily through life where few barriers can hold it back.

There's a touch of cool in the stoic elephant that's appealing and reassuring. In all probability this composure stems from the knowledge that they have no natural enemies; even the lion and crocodile personalities pay homage by giving them a respectful berth. Only the unpredictable tiger has been known to trigger any semblance of anxiety in this otherwise fearless animal.

Slow to anger, they can sometimes exhibit a violent temper and use their powerful personality to humble and drive off unwanted intruders. Active during day and night, elephants take naps whenever the urge strikes.

When elephants set their minds to something, they don't waver in their commitment until the task is complete. Their intelligence, combined with a formidable personality, gives them a terrific advantage in business and social affairs while their communication skills make them first-rate leaders. Trustworthy and honest, they always let others know where they stand with regard to their feelings.

In business, elephants are usually found in leadership roles as executives or company presidents and, although highly paid, are never ostentatious with their wealth. In the top echelons of political office, elephant personalities are far more likely to be female. Male elephants are not as predictable as their counterparts, and females are more likely to maintain an even temper. 

Like much predictions, they are general and they say most of humans' characteristics, they remark some humans qualities, so it's very difficult that they can be completely right and completly wrong too. I would like to say that I agree with their prediction because they usually say good qualities (" elephants are usually found in leadership roles as executives or company presidents"). That's for example one of my worst qualities, this year I was chosen in my class like our delegate but I dindn't enjoy it at all. My "deputy mayor" didn't let me a hand during the course so I had to work myself for the class, I didn't want responsabilities so I said Lourdes that I didn't want be the responable of our class.

They usually use your answers in the test to complet the text, they change the words and they add some examples  "Trustworthy and honest, they always let others know where they stand with regard to their feelings." That's an answer that I gave to them in their online test.

The jobs they have recommended to me are completly wrong, I will work in another way. They say some famous elephants.... but, am I like Pavarotti? 

University

I'm thinking about what I'll study in the university. It's a very difficult decision because we know that it's important to choose a career that you feel comfortable and it has future. Nowadays it's very difficult to choose a job with workplaces. Last week came to IES Castelló d'Empùries two university teachers to explain to us how was the UAB. They said that it's very important to have a degree from another country, for example USA, because this degree is something that makes the difference with the current people. And if we are current people we won't get a job. So it's important to go out and study in other languages. They also recommend to study here a good career and only do a master outside. Because our careers are good recompensed in other countries.


I would like to study any career focused on technology or mathematics. I haven't got any problem to go to another country to study, it's my future, and I can sacrifice some years t get a job. The price is important because I can't pay too much for a career. And if I go outland to study I have to get a scholarship probably coming from tennis, then I could study a career and play tennis for the team of the University because pay the apartment, the food, the degree and other things it's impossible without a job, and if I'm studying it's very difficult to do both things.

Eurovegas

The  most important casino in Europe will be build in Madrid and that's a good and a bad notice at the same time. If the casino had been build in Barcelona we had got a lot of workplaces and a lot of money from the Eurovegas casino but we had to change our laws because it could be legal. I have ever been in a casino because I'm not old enough  but I think that the ambient isn't the best, there are many people addicted to the game. This type of installations uses to attract a lot of people.
Catalan farmers are against the project because they don't want to lose their fields for the building of a casino. It's an extremely expensive project so the president is one of the richest man in the world. He visited Barcelona and Madrid to analyse the better option and finally he decided Madrid maybe because it's the capital of Spain and there are more population in the city, but in Barcelona we have the coast and a lot of tourism. 
The building is really big and amazing for everybody. The structure of the casino is very particular and very luxurious. The casino needs energy and good conditions (water, gas....).

Research project

We are students of sixteen years old and we must do an extensive project talking about some topic. First, I had no idea, only I would do something related about technology or physics. When the teachers show us the options I decided to study the energetic system of the high school but my technology teacher told me that the project was an error and I couldn't do it. So I made a propose also related on this. First I thought in a sustainable house but it wasn't original and I added some automatic systems to create an automatic sustainable house. But the automatic elements are very expensive so I will try to reduce the cost of them  doing it available for us. I made the propose but they haven't except it yet, but my technology teacher said that it was a good project and maybe they should accept it.  

I don't know if I will have many problems doing it, and I don't Know what I'll do in the practice part. This project is to prepare us for the future and the mark of the project is very important so we will work hardly. Last year we did a similar project but it was in groups, I did with Eloi and Pau about the skydive of Empuriabrava but we didn't get a good mark because we started too  late and we didn't work very hard.

Tsunami

Last year I was in Hawai, in an incredible hotel. I was lying near the swimming pool when a big wave arrived to the beach, it was the biggest one I had ever seen. The people were running in every direction and I only could think on my family, but after a little moment I decided to get to top of the hotel. The wave hit all I could see but our hotel was save because it was placed near a mountain and the water only destroyed the garden. After that I turned on my television to watch what had happened in the beach, then I phoned my wife I told her all about the wave and that I was safe and all my job's friends too.  However I went to the other bedrooms to talk to my friends and ask who they were. Then we went together and it wasn't nobody in the reception. The receptionist wasn't there so we decided to went out of the hotel. All the people were nervous and they were phoning their families but when they saw us outside they started to shout us, they were saying that we must went out quickly. So we returned and another wave shocked harder than the first one. So some unknown people  saved our lives. Afterwards we went to the beach and we helped people curing them with few medicines. The houses were destroyed and some persons were hurt. It was a very bad experience. I felt really frightened. Since then I have not travelled any more to an exotic country.

Excursion

I want to take part in a summer expedition because it has all the qualities I want. I love animals and particularly strange ones, so I want to travel to an exotic place. My dreams are become the best veterinary in the world, so I need practice and know new animals. Also I'm very strong and adventurous, for that reason going to a difficult place isn't a problem for me. My grandfather was explorer and now he is an excellent veterinary. I'm very healthy, I don't smoke anything and I don't drink alcohol so I'm qualified to practice heavy activities. When I was five I learnt swimming and I was the faster swimmer in the region but I had an important problem in my left leg. Now I only swim in the summer but short distances and once a week I go to the gym to keep me fit. I'm Spanish so I speak this language perfectly and I if could go to Spain I could speak perfectly. My brother did an expedition in Cuba last year and he told me that was fantastic and he met her girlfriend there. I have an aunt there, I visit her every two years. I think that it could be a good option because I know more or less that country. I don't have experience going alone but I'm ready to do it for first time. The travel only could last two months. 

Restaurant

Perelada's restaurant

Last week I went with my family to Perelada, in a traditional restaurant, by car, because we didn't have anything for eat at home. We had been many times there so we didn't have any problems to find the restaurant. It's in the entrance of the little town, it has a little garden outside and some flowers on it. The restaurant is modern, formal and quiet. It wasn't cramped at all, so in general it was noisy.

The food was excellent, when we demanded our dishes and our drinks, we could wait watching a sports channel in the big TV which it was in the corner of the room. Quickly we got the food, I ate a fantastic meal with potatoes, salad and a cold drink. The service was polite and we got a cheap price.
I ate an excellent cheese sandwich and skewers with some potatoes and croquettes.

It isn't my best restaurant because I prefer other type of food but I recommend this restaurant if you are searching a quite place to eat with your family with a good price. It's a good place to meet friends and go with your family.  

Book review

  "Todos los cuentos"

The last book I have read was the Spanish book "todos los cuentos", in this there are eight different histories. Most of them are sad because always a character dies or get crazy. Some of them are quite difficult to understand, the histories are very confusing because the narrator says one thing but finally it was a dream and things like this. The history I enjoyed more was "Mi hermana Elba". Because it was easy to understand and the topic was creative, but finally the main character Elba gets ill and finally she dies in an accident. The worst one, in my opinion, "reloj de Bagdad"  because it was very strange and there were two old women that nobody know if they were alive or they had died. Everybody in the class said different destinations about the women. 

I don't like the way which uses the writer to express her ideas. It's too much difficult to understand for us, and I spend a lot of time trying to read it with our level. I don't like the stories in general but I have to recognise that if we understand all what she want to explain, the stories could be interesting. 

We must read eight histories more because we have an exam, but I won't read it because I haven't interest in this book.

Harlem shake

"The Harlem Shake is an Internet meme in the form of a video of various groups of people performing a comedy sketch accompanied by a short excerpt from the song "Harlem Shake". As a meme, the video was replicated by many people, using the same concept, and this rapidly led to it becoming viral in early February 2013, with thousands of "Harlem Shake" videos being made and uploaded to YouTube every day at the height of its popularity.

The form of the meme was established in a video uploaded on February 2 by five teenagers from Queensland, Australia known on YouTube as The Sunny Coast Skate.The video started a viral trend of people uploading their own "Harlem Shake" videos to YouTube. The teenagers' video was, in its turn, a follow-up to a video by a YouTube comedy blogger named Filthy Frank which featured a section where several costumed people danced to the song "Harlem Shake" by Baauer."

Opinion: That's the new most famous dance in the world, it has replaced the Gangnam style. First appears a man with a helmet dancing alone, then the music changes and all the people start dancing crazily with strange costumes. That dance has been followed by a lot of population, and it has been visited millions of times on Youtube.  
That's evidence that the humans are really stupid, the dance can be funny but it's very simple and the music, to my opinion, it's pathetic. It's only a trendy and maybe the following stupid song will be most famous, because our society every time has reducing their culture maybe because they work to much hours or they are stress. 
The social reds are very important for the songs. Without them the majority of the people won't know these songs. Some important teams in USA have dance this music like Miami. Some basket stars dancing without control wearing strange costumes. 

However it's funny to view the results.

Felix Baumgartner

"The launch was originally scheduled for 9 October 2012, but was aborted due to adverse weather conditions. Launch was rescheduled and the mission instead took place on 14 October 2012 when Baumgartner landed in eastern New Mexico after jumping from a world record 127,852 feet (38969.3 m). On the basis of updated data, Baumgartner also set the record for the highest manned balloon flight (at the same height) and fastest speed of free fall at 843.6 mph (1357.64 km/h), making him the first human to break the sound barrieroutside of a vehicle. Baumgartner was in free fall for 4 minutes and 19 seconds, 17 seconds short of mentor Joseph Kittinger's 1960 jump."

Opinion: That's really amazing, a human has gone faster than the sound. However Felix Baumgartner was an expert doing this jumps, but he is a bite crazy, the feeling he should sense will be very intense and he could die easily. That jump is only available for the strongest people but if I ever can do a save jump as hight as Felix, I think that I will try it. Always if I have any risk. This jump was followed around the world, I saw it in TV programme, and somebody were very worried because Felix lost the control of his body for some minutes, if he didn't control his body he could broke bones and die. When he jumped from the balloon to the earth everybody was expecting like when the humans put the feet on the moon. That jump will pass to the history because it's a demonstration of the human power. Maybe another crazy man will beat the record using better technology. 
I have talked about the jump but the happiest moment was when he landed and he could stand up. So how it's logical he beat three more than one record in a jump.   

Zara

Opinion: That's good news for the earth, maybe the difference will be small but we have to reduce big companies' toxic releases. Because the ordinary people can turn off the light or reduce the temperature of their houses but the most important pollution produced has been created in a big factories. For them is easier and cheaper to put the releases in the river than recycle them. However there are a lot of companies who still producing pollution and we must reduce their realises.

Zara committed to go Toxic-free

Summary: After society pressure the clothing retailer promised to go toxic free. Greenpeace pretended to eliminate Zara's releases of hazardous chemicals. But until this week the company didn't caught on the urgent need to solve its toxic pollution problem. Now Zara has committed to eliminate all discharge by 2020. They are good news for the environment.

My clothes & me

I have never read a fashion magazine and I think that them only make the normal people become sad because they only show the most expensive clothes. The clothes they show can be beautiful but they are not allowed for us, and in my opinion (maybe I'm a bite different) nowadays the fashion only invent ugly dresses and so many strange forms. 

So I don't consider myself a fashion victim. My wardrobe isn't full of clothes, I have not much clothes but good chosen (in my view), and I match them as good as I can. I have two types of clothes, one for doing tennis and other one to go to the school.

I usually wear a long sleeves shirt, a sweatshirt and a jacket on the top. To go to the school I wear jeans and for doing sport a short trousers, because the large trousers are very uncomfortable. Finally I always wear a pair of shoes. I'm not a  fan of jewellery but I normally wear a plastic bracelet in the left arm. This is my winter wearing but in summer like all the world I always wear a very different wearing. In summer a nice T-shirt,  jeans and flip-flops are enough. 

Description of a person

He seems friendly and he usually is funny but sometimes is bad tempered. He is big headed and competitive, normally playing football or other sports. He also is narrow-minded. He is intelligent but he don't get good marks in this course. 

I have describe David because I know him since we were very little and I think that I know his personality. But he has changed a lot since we did primary. 

I'll describe a person in the class, he is a "boy". Maybe I should say that he is a hairy man, we played football together when we were little, we were defenders. 

He isn't tall at all, he is quite thin, fairy skinned, quite strong and he has the biggest beard in the class. His special feature is  he is quite big head and his huge ears. He always wears a tracksuit and old trainers.

Dear mrs. Pintó,

I have been studying here for four years. When I came here for the first time I felt so happy because I was exploring a new land. During these years I have visited almost all the centre, it is really big, but it's too much boring because we feel that we are in high security prison. The outside walls are completely grey and our classroom too (except the digital board). Normally the tables are dirty but it is not your problem.

Our centre's system is not a disaster but in ESO courses we had some disturbing people in the class. I think that these people may be in another special class. I know that the centre have not got money, but our technology material is so old and limited.

To summarise I will say that our centre is a good space with well equipped classrooms but without many colours in our routine.
